Chicken Karahi Recpie
Chicken Karahi Recpie. Chicken Karahi, also known as Chicken Karahi or Chicken Kadai, is a popular South Asian dish characterized by its spicy, tangy, and flavorful gravy. It's traditionally cooked and served in a wok-like utensil called a "karahi" or "kadai." Here's a simple Chicken Karahi recipe:
Heading1.Ingredients:
1. For Marinating Chicken:
Ø 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into diminished down pieces
Ø 1/2 cup plain yogurt
Ø 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
Ø 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
Ø 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Ø Salt to taste
2. For the Karahi:
Ø 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Ø 2-3 green chilies, slit lengthwise
Ø 1 large onion, finely chopped
Ø 2-3 tomatoes, chopped
Ø 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Ø 1 teaspoon coriander powder
Ø 1 teaspoon cumin powder
Ø 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Ø 1/2 teaspoon paprika or red chili flakes (adjust to your heat preference)
Ø Salt to taste
3. For Garnish:
Ø Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
Ø Fresh ginger, julienned
Ø Fresh green chilies, sliced
Heading2.Instructions:
1. Marinate the Chicken:
Ø In a bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt.
Ø Add the chicken pieces and mix well. Permit the chicken to marinate for no less than 30 minutes.
2. Cook the Chicken:
Ø In a large, heavy-bottomed karahi, wok, or deep skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat.
Ø Add the marinated chicken and cook until it's presently not pink. Mix sporadically, and cook for around 8-10 minutes. Dispense with the chicken and set it aside.
3. Prepare the Karahi:
Ø In a similar dish, add more oil if necessary.
Ø Add cumin seeds and permit them to splutter.
Ø Add the hacked onion and sauté until it becomes clear and begins to brown.
4. Add Spices:
Ø Add the coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, paprika or red chili flakes, and salt. Cook for a couple of minutes until the spices are fragrant.
5. Tomatoes and Green Chilies:
Ø Add the chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil starts to separate from the mixture. This should take around 5-7 minutes.
6. Return Chicken to the Karahi:
Ø Return the cooked chicken to the pan and mix it with the tomato and spice mixture. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors.
7. Garnish and Serve:
Ø Garnish the Chicken Karahi with chopped cilantro, julienned ginger, and sliced green chilies.
Ø Chicken Karahi is a delightful dish with a burst of flavors. Adjust the level of spiciness to your liking by controlling the amount of chili used. Enjoy your homemade Chicken Karahi!
